Glenn Beck getting Chicago outlet – acco…

Glenn Beck getting Chicago outlet – according to Tom Taylor, WIND (Salem’s station in Chicago) will be carrying Beck from 9-11 AM (Central). Beck has had a hard time breaking into the top 10 markets – not a single ABC Radio station carries him and between them and CBS, they dominate the 50 kw AM stations in major markets.

Beck is on WOR in New York now (Beckley), but still doesn’t have a station in Los Angeles.

Given how much Beck talks about President Obama’s Chicago connections, this could get a lot of attention….

Hmm… WIND picks up Beck, and in a live time slot… Salem’s determined to make a push, aren’t they? After Sliwa, now this. It’s a really smart move. Now, the question is, what they do with Dennis Miller (Salem has a deal with Westwood One to carry Miller on most of their stations; I don’t know when that expires).

As for L.A., don’t be surprised if he turns up on KRLA (Salem’s L.A. station). They apparently dumped their last drive time host, Laura Ingraham, fairly recently. They’re currently running the straight Salem feed (Mike Gallagher).

WIND is pushing back Dennis Miller’s start time. It was part of the announcement, but I didn’t want to muddy the waters with that detail.
