John Batchelor is a writer of history books, not a reporter. If it isn’t clear why that matters, last night Batchelor reported a logical inference as a fact – no news report said anything beyond that Rush Limbaugh was in the hospital due to chest pain – John “advanced” the story by declaring that Rush had a heart attack, which so far appears to not be true. Then someone at examiner.com (a website that just publishes user submitted content) quotes WABC as a source for their story.
John came to radio following 9/11, and had John Loftus on almost nightly, who was one of those loud voices saying we had to attack Iraq because of their WMD program, and claiming that “his sources” were sure we had killed Saddam Hussein in a bombing attack.. Lately, he has crossed the line repeatedly advocating that forces in Yemen are about to topple the government of Saudi Arabia. Predicting possible future outcomes is what intelligence analysts do, but it is not journalism.
