Rushathon in North Carolina – somewhat now pushed aside by Rush’s problem in Hawaii, Clear Channel is moving Rush in the Triangle area from heritage AM station WSJS (which they don’t own) to an FM station that used to be playing spanish music. The plan was (is?) to run Rush all weekend. I’m looking now to see if they have a stream for those who can’t get enough Rush

So will they replay the same three hour ‘Week in Review’ all weekend, or air all of the week’s shows?
Also, Rush is moving to FM in Raleigh. Wonder if they’ll do the same on the new station there?
Right now they are doing Rush week in review. Funny, this must have been a last minute deal because they are still doing station ID’s in Spanish.
Tom Taylor reported it was going to happen on November 2nd. Clear Channel has decided on weekends, there is no reason for a human to be around to listen to the audio. It’s possible it might be only the stream with the broken content… Given the significance of this change to that market, you would have thought they could have sprung for someone to be in the station at least part of the time. The tower in Eden is about 20 miles away from Winston Salem and Greensboro (91 kW)… so it probably isn’t a great signal…. WSJS has a strong AM signal in the daytime, even though it is only a 5 kW Class B station. It covers about half of the state. That probably leaves some gaps that some small stations will want to fill in.
When I saw the alert for this event, I wanted to check it out. However, I discovered that this station is one of them that indicates I have to get an updated flash player. It’s a shame that stations are upgrading to the point that I’m losing access to their streams.
Some stations offer more than one player, most do not. Well, too bad. I’ll upgrade when I’m ready to.
