Nah. She’s pretty dopey.
I think by “People”, she meant “I” – saying quite a bit about herself.
I DO believe that. When talking about personal problems, unless you qualify the statement with “What do you think?”, people don’t want to hear someone ramble…but everyone likes to think that their advice is valuable.
People can get pretty burned out by a friend who repeats the same problems, but does nothing about them, including acting on advice. Ask me how I know! LOL! I’ve been on both sides on the fence.
Although vastly improved, I still have a habit of complaining, mostly about work (because there’s SO much to complain about!). ONE of my New Year’s resolutions is to complain less. It will be good for my character, and give others a better day. :-)
As far as Joy Browne is concerned, I’ve made it a practice not to listen to her. Dr. Laura Schlessinger is generally compatible with my world view.
