TSA is using the wrong security model – …

TSA is using the wrong security model – in computer security (and more generally), there are two different ways to approach security. The way to security if you’re serious is to Deny All unless they’re in a list of known safe items. The other approach is to Allow All, and only deny things that are known threats. TSA is using the latter method, probably to avoid disrupting airline travel.

From what I heard on Beck’s show, a lot of the problem is that we are relying on screeners in the other countries to enforce our rules on international flights – and his guest overheard the airport people say “We have to do this all the time with people from Sudan who don’t have passports”…. of course, he wasn’t from the Sudan, but without a passport, you wouldn’t know that. I guess to someone in Amsterdam, someone from East Africa and someone from West Africa look alike… but I digress

So the rule should be…. if you’re on an approved list to fly, you can get on the plane. If you’re not, then you get the Israeli treatment of wanting to know who you are, why you want to go the U.S., how long you’ll be here, where will you be staying, do you hate America, etc….

From what I have heard, you need a passport to get into Canada now from the U.S. My question is why is the U.S. so slack in allowing anyone, from anywhere allowed into the Country ?
I suppose , its because of our political correctness, don’t offend anybody, all the while these corrupt politians sit on their fat assets.

If it’s true that he was not carrying a passport, does this mean that people from Sudan have a method to bypass immigration in Detroit at the airport?

Otherwise, this was the same as pilots who want to learn to fly, but not to land. Without a passport, there is no rational reason to allow him on a plane, right?
