    Thompson is knowledgeable but quite honestly he is really boring, I did not intentionally quit listening, I just went elsewhere. He is kind of like Bill Bennet, whose morning chat can put me to sleep in the middle of a cold shower.

    Fred’s a fairly lazy guy. He really didn’t want to be pres. Remember how the press hazed him so long about not actively campaigning? He hit the trail hard when Huckabee got strong. Just in to run interference for his buddy, McCain. Thanks Fred for delivering Obama.

    Fred seems to be better at delivering sound bytes and short anecdotes than he does at monologues. He was excellent when he substituted for Paul Harvey, but his program tends to drag.

    After I wrote that question, I heard Mrs Thompson on another radio show – I think it was Hannity – who was joking with her about how it’s really her radio show “with Fred”. Is that any of a factor? Before marrying Fred, she worked as a lobbyist in D.C. She’s a lawyer from Chicago. To me, she just highights Fred Thompson’s weaknesses, and isn’t going to resonate with anyone who views the size and cost of the Federal Government as the root problem facing the country. She doesn’t want smaller government, she just wants her side to be running it.
