Contrary to Michael Savage’s impression that Haiti is poor because “it is on the dry side of the island”, Haiti has more than abundant rainfall with only small areas where the rain is blocked by mountains:

The reason it looks dry from the satellite maps is because most of the trees have been cut down to use as firewood. In the slavery days, Haiti was used to grow sugar cane, which requires large amounts of continuous moisture to thrive. Haiti is not “dry”.
