The odd thing about the Mercury News bankruptcy (actually the parent company) is the CEO who ran it out of money not only keeps his job, but winds up owning 20% of the new company and retains voting control of the board. Bank of America and the other banks end up converting their loans into “equity” consisting of non voting stock. This just smells rotten.
