Avoiding the issues…. President Obama said we “need to deal with” the issue of offshore drilling, he did NOT say we need to start drilling. He said we need to build nuclear power plants, but he didn’t say what the government needed to do to make that happen – like push ahead to open the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste storage facility – which Democrats have opposed. We need to repeal “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” – but that would just revert then to “No gays in the military”, which isn’t what his supporters want. We need to eliminate capital gains taxes on small business – capital gains is a lower rate than normal taxes…. eliminating the capital gains tax would be a tax increase, not a tax cut – unless the IRS is told to redefine the definition of what income is, and that would open up a huge ocean of new loopholes….
Everything is shuck and jive – trying to “get over” saying one thing and meaning another…
eh, i don’t believe anything Obama says anyway….he makes these bizarre claims like “i gave 95% of the american people a tax cut”, and i’m wondering what planet i’m living on…and of course nobody in the media cares to challenge these statements…
