to ba.broadcast: you’re both right. About two years ago when Clear Channel stopped programming HD2/3 channels for individual stations, I dropped them from the list of streaming stations since it isn’t possible to confirm which CC format is playing on which HD channel.
Given the total lack of interest in HD channels, maintaining the data for them is not a high priority.task, nor will it become one.
Here are the streaming counts by the Parent Company
+----------------------------+---------+-------------+ | parentname | hdcount | streamcount | +----------------------------+---------+-------------+ | Clear Channel | 374 | 9 | | Other | 282 | 70 | | CBS | 115 | 24 | | State College / University | 82 | 18 | | Citadel | 76 | 0 | | Entercom | 67 | 1 | | Public TV/Radio Networks | 44 | 8 | | Bonneville | 22 | 2 | | Emmis | 20 | 3 | | Beasley Broadcasting | 18 | 2 | | CMP / Susquehanna | 18 | 0 | | Cox Radio | 17 | 0 | | Univision | 16 | 0 | | Cumulus | 12 | 0 | | Community College | 9 | 2 | | Wilks | 8 | 0 | | Saga | 7 | 0 | | Private College | 7 | 0 | | Regent | 6 | 1 | | Minnesota Public Radio | 5 | 1 | +----------------------------+---------+-------------+
The list is pulled straight from hdradio.com. If a station has HD capability, but isn’t listed on hdradio.com, it won’t be counted.
If someone actually wants to help find streaming HD2/3 channesl, let me know and I’ll explain how you can help.
