Bye bye Joey Reynolds – WOR is picking up Coast to Coast in New York, making WOR closer to the defacto Premiere affiliate in New York according to the NY Daily News.
Not clear yet if Reynolds will remain on the WOR network or other shows may move. I hope Steve Malzberg isn’t overextended on a mortgage. He’s going to become expendable when Hannity moves to WOR :)
Wow. I guess a whole bunch of progressive talk stations just lost their overnight programming.
And I have to laugh at part of the story: you’re telling me New York City listeners couldn’t find one of the countless 50,000 watt AM stations carrying the show up and down the east coast? There’s no excuse in not being able to find Coast to Coast somewhere on the AM overnight dial with as many affiliates as it has. I smell a lie.
I don’t see Hannity moving to WOR– Citadel still has priority for him on their stations. On the other hand, Limbaugh could make the jump. Rush Radio 710 WOR? If Buckley’s willing to spring for it, and dump the variety talk stuff like Joy Browne, Joan Hamburg et al.– it’d just about kill WABC.
Reynolds is going to do his show now on a digital subchannel of WNBC-TV
