Darrin Klayman has left Katz (the Clear Channel owned firm that handles national advertisers for radio) and has left to join the currently bankrupt Citadel Broadcasting. Mr Klayman has worked for Katz since graduating from Buffalo State University in 1987. What would motivate a person to make such a drastic career change and jump onto a sinking ship?
Could it be that private equity money funding both companies think he would be more useful over at Citadel to straighten out the national sales process and asked him to move there? I’m not in the radio business – what do you think this means?
