“Please don’t call me Shirley”… Pet…

“Please don’t call me Shirley”… Peter Graves has died at age 83, apparently of a heart attack. He starred in the original “Mission Impossible” TV show, and the Airplane movies.

As a teenager, he worked at WMIN in Minneapolis. If you want to impress your friends, mention he was the brother of James Arness, who played Matt Dillon on the TV series Gunsmoke.

    “What’s your clearance, Clarence?”
    “Roger, Roger.”
    “Over, Oveur.”

      What’s your vector, Victor?

I especially enjoy the sight gags and the intentional continuity errors where things move or change between camera shots. Each time I see it, I notice things I had missed before- but I’m the weird kind of person who watches the background in a firm, not the star :)

Speaking of backgrounds, isn’t there a scene involving Robert Stack’s character being driven to the airport, and the background keeps changing?
