Had this been an actual emergency, I would have kept you in the dark and fed you mushroom food.

For the insanely curious, custom Permalinks in WordPress need mod_rewrite enabled, and overrides permitted in the .htaccess file

Every time my cable does an EAS test, I consider switching to Sat. Any EAS on Dish/DirectTV?

I don’t own a TV, but I know the FCC wants that, as well as on Sirius/XM. The implementation would be similar to how they implement sports blackouts and block out of market network signals. That would mean the EAS would only be useful on a fairly wide area. The new generation EAS also requires sign language video – I guess for deaf people who can’t read English.

I still expect some day radio will be required to do closed captioning. Because of his own deafness, Rush’s show could do that today – he had a full time transcriber doing it in real time – that’s also why his show has complete transcripts online for the news media to ignore.
