Just informed this morning , a local NBC station was showing a video of a man going into a convience store and buying a couple packs of cigaretts, a six pack of beer, and a box of condoms. All the mentioned items were purchased with a public assistance “welfare” food stamp EBT card.
It seems to me that a store that goes from a $ 1,300 a month transaction record to $ 50,000 in January that would have thrown up a “red flag”. And they say our government isn’t on the ball !! I wonder how many go un-noticed ? Welfare fraud in the good ‘ol U.S.of A. Nah, that would never happen in Obamaland….
Also consider that many EBT cards carry a “cash” balance. So, even if the store and/or employee followed the rules, the sponge could still withdraw cash from the card and then pay for the items in another transaction.
At least we can hope he actually uses the condoms and isn’t just making water balloons.
And this is the same government that promises to cut “waste, fraud and abuse” from Medicare and Medicaid AFTER health care legislation is passed. Oh, yeah… I really believe that one!
Al Sharpton was talking today about all the “Pre-existing” conditions in “our community” that aren’t being treated today because of the evil insurance companies. I’m sure there won’t be a flood of people demanding hip replacements or drug addicts with pulmonary hypertension wanting free meals in the hospital or anything…
