Nacogdoches calling – Rush received an i…

Nacogdoches calling – Rush received an important call about 20 years ago from a caller in Nacodoches, Texas. It’s the most important call Rush ever got, and it bugs him to this day. The essence of the call was “Rush, you’re saying you relate to us in the middle class, but you live in New York, eat $100 steaks, and spend weekends partying with NFL owners – you aren’t one of us”. (this was long before seminar callers). [The same argument can be made about Savage and his $40,000 set of window blinds]

Rush’s “going to Costa Rica for health treatment” comment was a bullseye from the left, but for the wrong reason. “Let’s all go to clinics in Costa Rica” is no solution to the concerns of the middle class. While third party payment IS the root problem to out of control costs, Rush didn’t really engage on identifying a solution that was better than Obama’s. By making it personal (“I would do “X”), he was signaling he had opted out of the discussion. When he finally rallied the troops, there was no message, no alternative, other than be angry and say “No”. Republicans in general offered no alternative. All they wanted to do was fix a “flawed bill” to save the jobs in their districts – not reject the entire premise that this is a problem the Federal government could or should try to fix.

The next generation now has the ball. Let’s hope they aren’t too vindictive when they realize what a big mistake happened today.

Death panels and Soylent Green aren’t vindictive.

I believe those stars who were going to move to Canada because Bush would win are still here in the US. I do not take that kind of statement too seriously.
