The Equalizer edited out large amounts of the interview, and Newsbusters edited out the (ph) right at the point that Brian Lamb suggests (incorrectly) that Ed Schultz was on Air America.
It also deteted the part where Randi Rhodes said:
Ed Shultz was never employed by Air America, and they never syndicated the show. It is Brian Lamb who said Shultz was on Air America, not Rhandi Rhodes.

That Equalizer post fills in a bit more of the history. “Democracy Radio” was the original owner of Shultz’s show, which supports the idea that his show was originally funded by Democrats….
More details…

Randy Michaels, a former Clear Channel executive bought the show in 2005. “Owning the Show” and “Syndicating the Show” are different things.
RadioActive still owns the show:

Michaels also owns a string of small town radio stations in the midwest.
Yeah, Michaels primarily uses Radioactive for station-flipping: buy or win a construction permit, then sell it to someone else for a profit. He owned a CP for a station here in my hometown, then promptly sold it to the local Indian tribe for a quarter-million dollars. It’s a nice signal, and quite possibly underpriced.
Thanks for the fix.
I didn’t mean to imply that Schultz was with Air America.
I guess my real points were/are…
– would Schultz be where he is today without that $800,000 from desperate Democrats?
– have Republicans done anything comparable? I imagine it would have been front page news if they had…
1) Probably not
2) I don’t think I want that
Schultz is a little bit of an annoyance to some Progressives – he is a strong supporter of gun rights. In North Dakota, the sheriff can be hours away and you have to solve your own problems.
I would like some reaction though to the consumer boycotts of Beck. I heard a bit of the show where Beck is realizing that nobody in the “establishment” has his back covered. That’s what happens when you are the leader against the established order. Beck doesn’t want to be a leader. Sometimes people are called to be leaders by circumstances. He’s got some decisions to make.
