The unintended effect of Coal Mining Saf…

The unintended effect of Coal Mining Safety – This Graph and article says it all. When you turn the screws on coal mine safety, humans are replaced by machines. That’s good for humans not ending their lives in a horrible way, but also means that a lot fewer people have jobs working in coal mines. Also, more mines are now surface mines and mines done by removing the top of the mountain over where the coal can be mined at the surface.

You are correct, but you assume the intent of the people yelling “safety” is actually to make the mines safer. This is not the case. They know what the options are, and they are also the first to complain about “destroying the environment” by scrapping off the mountain tops.
Their true intent is to shut coal mining down. Obama has said he wants electricity rates to skyrocket, and the best way to make that happen is to make the cheapest energy source – coal – much more expensive.
The Progressive Libs will use EVERYTHING to further their agenda constantly, even a mining catastrophe.

I’m sure we’re going to fill up the TV with congressional hearings over the 25 (or 29) miners who died from this accident.

Where are the Congressional hearings about the estimated 99,000 people per year who die from hospital acquired infections?

No need. With Obamacare, nosocomial infections will be a thing of the past.

Good point! No hospitals = no hospital aquired infections.

Interesting timing that the Massachusetts insurance pool system just exploded. Must cover preexisting conditions = higher costs + freeze on premiums + mandatory participation =
You must buy health insurance but nobody will sell it to you
= Government run single payer health system.

The blueprint was there for all to see. Now just 56 more states to collapse.
