“I wanted to see the President” – Joseph Sean McVey’s words. He was in Asheville probably chasing tornadoes – he’s a ham radio operator, and volunteers to chase tornadoes and respond to public emergencies in Ohio, where he lives. Because of his volunteer work, his car is outfitted with flashing lights and a siren and he carries a portable police scanner.
Pretty sinister, eh? Maybe he should have said “I wanted to see the President’s plane take off”… he was carrying a holstered gun, and being an avid hunter had a chart in his car of how much correction to make to rifle sights based on distance (there was no rifle in his car)
