The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico – a few weeks ago, President Obama appeared to be coming around to allow more offshore oil drilling. If you were British Petroleum (the operator of the drilling rig that exploded), would you want more or less oil production in the United States?

That is an interesting question. It seems that BP being an “evil for profit company” would want to take advantage of the plentiful raw resources that we have here, that they need to produce the product they sell, BUT………… given the uncertain situation with the administatration in regards to taxes, fines penalties, the out of control EPA and the child like atttude of “Dear Leader B. O.” British Petroleum might be wanting to hedge their bets, pull back on US production and invest in regions of the world that might offer a more friendly attitude toward business. That $4.00+ per gallon gas that B.O. said he would like to see is not far around the corner. Just my humble opinion :)

      Think more evil. (evilly? evilish?)…

BP has lots of oil production all around the world. While expensive, this problem will likely put US oil exploration on hold again (we haven’t yet recovered from the politics of 3 mile island vs nuclear energy)…. which means only good things for the bottom line of oil companies. More oil exploration within the United States is only a good thing for you – IF you are the one drilling the wells.
