EMT checks Wikpedia – as I’m double checking the “random web site links”, I read one of the more interesting ones out there and got a real chuckle. The author of the blog is an ambulance attendant (probably not actually an EMT – that’s an American term) for the National Health Service in England. If you want to see the future if we get Obamacare, his stories give you lots of insights.
This particular story was about a woman in labor who suddenly gave birth before getting to the ambulance. After the birth was complete, there is a 1-10 scale for a newborn to indicate if the infant may be having problems that require immediate attention. Just to be sure, he whipped out his cell phone, pulled up the test from Wikipedia and confirmed the baby was a 10 on the scale of 10. Isn’t technology something?
