“They had it coming” after 9/11, says the Times Square Bomber… (who is “they”?)
NY Times story.
Lots of juicy details here…
– Mr Shahzad got US Citizenship not because he wanted to become one of “us”, but because he could earn more money working in the Middle East
– He abandoned his wife in Connecticut – she returned to live with her parents in Saudi Arabia
– He was making $70k a year
– In college, he got free meals at the Mosque on the campus of the University of Bridgeport
– He had asked his dad to let him fight in Afghanistan, but his father refused to let him
– He hated George Bush, the war in Iraq, etc..
– More recently, he was motivated by the drones killing his brethren in Pakistan
The biggest red flag if I were in charge of DHS… not specific to people from Pakistan… any person who gets American Citizenship and then immediately turns around and leaves the country for more than a few weeks should be a huge red flag. Citizenship should be about becoming an American – someone who refers to Americans as “They” is not really an American.
He got free meals, he abandoned his wife and he hated George Bush — sounds like a typical Democrat voter to me.
