Drill baby drill
Those trying to exaggerate the impact of the deepwater horizon spill had two major setbacks in the past day…
The tarballs washing up on the shore are not from the leaking well, according to chemical analysis. As you already know if you read this regularly, the Gulf of Mexico is full of natural oil seeps that have nothing to do with humans
The sea turtles washing up on shore are not dying from the oil. Turtles (and polar bears) die all the time for any number of reasons, just like humans. Necropsy of the turtles has found none of them (yet) have died from oil and the numbers are not out of line with an ordinary year.
The NY Times is trying the Disney approach to anthropomorphism by giving names to sea turtles. Maybe we should start naming trees and accuse the NY Times of killing Phil the Oak Tree to print its newspaper.
