Great Voice of the Great Lakes has lost …

Great Voice of the Great Lakes has lost its voice. The 50kw heritage AM station that used to dominate the industrial heartland is as feeble as the car companies it used to shill for. Gone are the Detroit Tigers and JP McCarthy. WJR was #10 in the PPM ratings just released, and that’s misleading because the station is heard during the day over most of Michigan. The station is owned by Citadel and carries Rush, Hannity, Dr Laura and Levin. The middle class white-collar workers who used to be the core listening audience are now retired in Florida.
