Oil spills cause hurricanes – that’s the preposterous notion I just heard on NPR. This is laying the foundation for blaming future hurricane damage on BP. Do trial lawyers donate a lot of money to NPR?

Wow. Where did they pull that one from? If anything, an oil spill of that magnitude would disrupt the water cycle and DECREASE hurricanes.

It was nonsense…. they first said “since the oil is dark”, the ocean will absorb more heat… then they said “but the evaporation of the oil will cool the water, so we don’t really know”. But a jury in New Orleans will gladly believe anything and demand a trillion dollars.

Really, how stupid are these people? What kind of college would give a degree to anyone that simpleminded?

I’m more than a bit annoyed at Drudge fearmongering this. He’s had a picture on his page all day of a guy who looks like he has oil on his face from swimming in the ocean, but it’s just the stuff soldiers use to hide their face so they aren’t seen. He also ran a headline implying oil was at Miami, when the story specifically said there was no oil in Florida – it was just a “what if” planning meeting…
