Nick Digilio & Shrek – Nick is on WGN-AM…

Nick Digilio & Shrek – Nick is on WGN-AM in Chicago and mostly does entertainment industry stuff. He was talking about the release of Shrek this weekend, and he was talking to someone who finally validated and picked up on the same reason I disliked the original movie. The whole point of the movie purported to be to accept people [well ogres] that are green and different than you, but the “evil” character is evil because he is short, and the other characters repeatedly made short jokes and imputed motives to him merely because he was short. It wasn’t obvious to me whether the writers were that stupid or if that was a subtext. There was no “Aha” moment where Shrek or the other characters realize what they’re doing, so I leaned towards Stupid. Perhaps it was in a draft script and got edited out….
