Certified Chain of Custody – sounds like a legal term like keeping track of O.J. Simpson’s blood sample so that there is no chance it was tampered with by police? Think again.
So I’m at a local burger place (never been there before) and my soda comes in a paper cup – not labeled Dixie Cup or with the name of the business – it is a “Certified Chain of Custody” paper cup to protect the environment. I haven’t looked it up yet, but my guess is this is the coming Cap and Trade beauracracy starting to make sure I was not drinking form an illegal paper cup (one that has not had the CO2 tax paid on it). The only thing missing was the RFID chip in the event I didn’t dispose of it properly.
