A week ago, the first relief well was within about 600 feet of reaching the casing of the leaking well. The guess was they would reach it between July 7th (Wednesday) to July 9th – and it would take two days to seal the well.
This was never intended to be a producing well – its purpose was to determine if there was gas and oil and how much. They seem to have that answer – “a lot”.
The ROV cameras today are abuzz with activity. Something is about to happen. Then Fox News will have to go back to covering car chases and looking for the corpse of Natalee Hollaway.
