So London has decided to dismantle the practice in Great Britain that allows private companies to tow away cars that are illegally parked….
So what is the NY Times angle for why this is a newsworthy story?
Meet the iconic Haroon Zafaryab, whose actions the NY Times credits with this change. Now you might be a bigot and think “Zafaryab” doesn’t sound very much like an English name. Shame on you.
Mr Zafarayab was parked in the loading dock of a small shopping center while he wandered down the street to pray at his mosque. When he got back, he found his car booted, and spent the next 30 hours in his car fighting for his freedom to park his car anywhere he wanted – it was a religious emergency, after all.
Get the connection? :)
Don’t worry, Art. The Dhimmi Bulbs are here and lighting up the pathways for our would-be masters. Bloomberg springs instantly to mind.
Asalaam Alaikum, Kufr
I wonder how Haroon would have made it home if a 20 ton Lorrie had just of backed in the loading dock and flattened his little auto ? He should be thankful to the police , in stead of saying Allah damn you.
So the new bottom line in Britain now is that parking illegally on government property (fire houses, hospitals, etc.) gets your vehicle ticketed and impounded, but parking illegally on private property is a “religious right”. Kinda reminds one of those glory days of feudalism where there was one set of rules for the nobility and another set of rules (keep off the King’s lawn) for the common folks.
I can’t wait to see how this works out in Gotham. Auto glass replacement companies are going to make millions replacing smashed windshields.
Here is another alternative:
