So Christine O’Donnell was really surprised when Progressives told her they voted for her and how happy they were that she won the Delaware Republican primary…
Bill Maher dragged up a tape from 10 years ago about Ms O’Donnell’s brief dabbling with Wicca. She appeared on his show 22 times.
Be careful about hopping on a bus until you know who is driving and what the destination is. One lump or two with your Tea? That B.A. degree in English Literature surely will come in handy as a U.S. Senator. We don’t need any more people in government who are lawyers and have clerked at the U.S. Court of Appeals and worked as an in-house lawyer for a chemical company that was spun off from DuPont…
Amazing! At one time going to law school was looked upon with honor. To become a doctor or a lawyer was a dream for most American kids. Unfortunately, the legal profession has suffered as a consequence of tort reform failure. Ambulance chasers abound by the hundreds in any major American city. Today a lawyer is in the bottom of the pile when it comes to ethical professions. It’s right there with accountants and used car salesmen (although I have met a couple of decent used car salesmen in my life).
We, the American voter, need to throw these bums out. Enough is enough. The old adage of what would you call a boat full of lawyers sinking… a good beginning is very apropos here.
Since the work of Senate is to make and improve the Federal laws, there are two choices – the Senators can write the laws or they rely on other lawyers.
If you’re going to build a large building, you need an architect and a structural engineer. If you want to tear down a large building, all you need is a box cutter.
Be careful about throwing away the rule of law. That’s how the world has wound up with guillotines and genocide.
The kick in the pants is that there is no test of common sense…. This means that the individual voter has to get off his bottom and actually educate himself about the candidate. The inability and unwillingness of the voter to do this is how we got here. Congratulations to the Tea Party -but- it won’t amount to much in the long run. It is going to take an actual second American Revolution and I don’t think there are enough citizens with the true resolve.
“Can’t” never did nuthin.
Who said “Let’s kill all the lawyers and start over again.”?
William Shakespeare. So lawyers have been a problem for a long time.
I personally do NOT believe most things lawyers say. I always think I need a second opinion, even when they agree with me, cause they get paid to argue both sides of an argument.
But I do know that when you need one, get a “shark” (this is a term that I’ve heard lawyers on the Left Coast call lawyers who are extremely vicious). You want a lawyer who intimidates the other side.
You need to do some serious study before throwing out cliches.
That quote is from King Henry VI
http://www.william-shakespeare.info/act4-script-text-henry-vi-part2.htm
The quote is immediately followed by a clerk being dragged in fromt of Cade who sentences him to hanging because he has the ability to sign his own name instead of using an “X” to sign his name.
Is that really what you want the end game to be?
I’m so disgusted with the Senate that I would likely vote for anyone who vows to stop double-talking and actually LISTEN for an hour a day. Perhaps that B.A. degree in English is just what’s needed. A nice bit of poetry would be is a lot less damaging to the country than 2000+ pages of legal mumbo-jumbo that requires the Supreme Count to interpret.
I have no problem with someone who dabbled with witchcraft in high school. I know folks who dabbled in things that were actually serious in high school (like Obama and his drugs). This would be preferable to the elitist zombies we have now. I don’t like or trust or any talking head, least of all whoever that is in the video.
It strikes me that Einstein didn’t even have a degree, but was eventually accepted by his peers. O’Donnell should be treated with the same respect as any person. Let her be known by her actions and deeds rather than her detractors in the (“ugh”) media.
Call me touchy, but I have a B.A. in English literature. I’ve also managed two small businesses (both million-dollar enterprises, BTW) to profitability, been published several times and when I’m not writing, I take care of other people’s money for them. Don’t discount the innate intelligence or pragmatism of people who may not have paper credentials. Keep in mind, our current president has a degree from an Ivy League school. Look at the bang-up job he’s done.
