Michael Savage <3 Governor Jerry Brown

Pay close attention to anything Michael Savage says about the new Governor of California, Jerry Brown (or if he refuses to talk about it).

The reason I’m bringing this to your attention is that in 2006, Michael Weiner (Savage’s real name) gave $5,600 in political contributions to Jerry Brown when he was running to become the Attorney General of the state.   Brown defeated Chuck Poochigian, a Republican State Senator from Kern county in the general election.

Call Savage up and ask why an “Independent Conservative” voted with his pocketbook to get Jerry Brown elected to hold the top legal office in the State of California.  I dare you.

I called his show last year to seek his opinion about Jerry Brown’s decision not to represent the people of California when the case was to be heard before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. The screener told me it was off-topic and would be better suited for another show.

The topic of that day’s show involved Judge Walker’s decision to grant a stay.

    ’nuff said.

I’m continually amazed on what you post Art. Like they say in the Heiniken commercial: Brilliant!
You have to feel a little sorry for Dr. Savage though: if you listen to him, even on a semi-regular basis as I do, then you are well aware the good Dr. is a legend in his own mind. He also suffers from humongous talk-show-host-envy-syndrome (TSHES) – all conservative talk show hosts (other than himself) are just copying (stealing) his ideas. He only says this about 4-5 times during the first hour alone.
You also have to feel sorry for Dr. Savage since he still resides in SF. Now I’m not saying that SF is a bad place to live, but for a conservative such as himself it can be a VERY frustrating place to live. I always thought this contributed to his ever-present surly personality. Doesn’t take much to get him spittin’ mad during his show.
But everything is relative, and compared to his neighbors, he may be the most conservative person in a square mile. Hell, maybe the whole city.
I would LOVE to hit him with your morsel above during his show. He would literally be spittin’ so much he’d look like he had rabies.
And I bet I wouldn’t get a free copy of newest book either.

Although Savage makes some sort of sense sometimes, I invariably get an unsavory feeling about him before long and turn him off. I know, feelings are the M.O. of the Sanforized lib, but this fellow strikes me as manic … and mean as three-day-old piss in a jar. This information disappoints me but it does not surprise me.

It all makes sense if you frame it this way: Micheel Weiner (a PhD from Berkeley living in Marin county) is playing a character called “Michael Savage” – what he thinks a Conservative is – loud, obnoxious, irrational, intolerant of gays and racial minorities, etc… He has no grounding in anything Conservative – he was taught by Marxists and socialized with them most of his life. He didn’t watch William F Buckley, he hasn’t read any books by Conservative authors, he thinks Ronald Reagan was very unpopular…

It’s schtick. He says so. He doesn’t even try to hide it. He calls his listeners morons and idiots Why others can’t see that (or continue to listen for the entertainment value) is beyond me. Take the picture of the cover from Psychological Nudity and ask a woman for her immediate impression of the guy in the picture.

I vaguely remember him talking about this on the show (how he hoped JB had become a “moderate” and had changed; he even had him on the show several times). He then talked about
JB’s refusal to pursue the prop 8 thing, but otherwise he wouldn’t have lamented about JB too much because he would have to eat too much crow for supporting him.
I have a theory about Bernie Madoff. Savage berated him daily after the scandal came out, and all but compared him to Hitler. He would tell the stories of naive Jewish investors who lost everything. My take is that he forgot to mention one naive Jewish investor-himself-who was also taken by Madoff. The ire and venom he directed toward Madoff was just too telling for me.
I often wonder how a Ph.D. educated at Berkley and self-professed follower of Alan Ginsberg could reform so much into Mr. Conservative. I guess what resonates with me is his dry, sarcastic, curmudgeon New York humor. When he goes off, he is funny to me.

From around 20 minutes to 26 minutes during the first hour, he discussed his “support for Jerry Brown a couple of elections ago” because of his support for military schools. He said he did not like that Jerry now had retreads from 30 years ago in his administration…..

Maybe Dr. Savage read this thread!

One sponsor that Savage seems to actually like is a service called “Reputation Defender” which purports to monitor the internet and drown out negative information it finds, something I find troubling… I currently have the blog feeding into Google RSS thing, which is why you have people arriving from nowhere and accusing me of stealing their work about hamburgers in Flint. There was some pretty direct evidence a few years ago that his producer was reading things – or perhaps someone actually called :)

      Here is the background:
      http://counter-recruitment.blogspot.com/2010/05/jerry-brown-raised-12-million-for-his.html

At the time, Jerry Brown was mayor of the city of Oakland. He worked to raise money to get two charter schools off the ground – one was a school for the arts, the other was a military school located on an old Army base. Here is the web site for the school:
      http://oakmil.org/omiacademy/site/default.asp

It graduated its first class in 2007.

Here is another piece of background from an insider:
      http://www.theoakbook.com/MoreDetail.aspx?Aid=4167&CatId=8

Jerry Brown’s interest seemed to mainly be for the School for the Arts, according that that account.

Maybe he should have the guy who runs the place on as a guest. I think it would be more interesting that having random people call up with their feelings about what happened to Mr Wheeler.

Hmmm, I thought it was just me!
Let me pile on with you about this pathetic Michael Weiner (I too would have thought of another name for myself!) .
I discovered/stumbled across this self aggrandizing buffoon (sound familiar, like something Michael Weiner might say about someone else, who has higher ratings?) and didn’t believe for a minute that he was a “conservative” no matter how many times I listened (or he told me), and I admit I did not listen for long at any given time.
His book and/or autobiography “Liberalism is a Mental Disorder” or something to that effect, (never tried to buy/read it) I will admit though I did like the title!
He seems/sounds so pathetic when he tells of his many accomplishments to those still listening. Those poor fools whose only link to the outside world is the AM radio. Listening from their involuntary imprisonment in the mental institutions across the country, good thing he is a Dr.
OK, that was really fun, I need to get some more material, so let me go and try to find the Michael Weiner show now . . .. . .
