A man was arrested outside the Mosque in Dearborn, Michigan.
He was carrying an unspecified number of M-80 fireworks (an M-80 is roughly 1/4 of a stick of dynamite). Note this arrest happened last MONDAY, but just made the news today. The reporters apparently have a reputation of reporting anti-Muslim conspiracies, based on the comments on the article.
The man’s name was immediately released – Roger Stockham. He’s from Imperial Beach, California.
He is pretty visible on the web. He’s a 63 year old Vietnam Vet helicopter pilot – he’s a member of the VFW post located near the Imperial Naval Air Station in Imperial, California – near the Mexican border.
He was an Army helicopter pilot in Vietnam, and then after the war spent a few years in Indonesia as a bush pilot….(I wonder if he knew Barack Obama’s mom…) He also has a facebook page. No indication that he has done anything with his life since 1975.
I’m still working on getting my head around how President Obama says being “anti-government” in Egypt is a good thing.
First of all it’s just an isolated incident, They’ll make all of you think all former Viet chopper pilots from California are wacko nut jobs, here are a few facts: 1. There are a lot of Islamic mosques in California, he wouldn’t need to go to Michigan.
2. The report stated a unspecific amount, that could have been 1.
3. M-80’s are Illegal in California as well as smaller firecrackers, so he would been arrested here too. ( Are they illegal in Michigan too ? )
4. We in California do not consider anywhere south of Bakersfield ,a part of California, and we wish it was split at that point, and the present Governor could become the President of Southern California.
5. I am sure there were a lot of men knew Barack’s momma. But did she like military or former military men ?
6. And, Barack saying being “anti-government” in Egypt being a good thing was probably a mis-quote…
One account mentioned that CAIR may have played a role in this story. I wonder what ever happened to that “Christian militia” that CAIR worked with the FBI to set up… You would think if there was a trial by a jury of their peers, it would be on the news.
update from a few days ago.
This is a local story – the group was indicted last spring and it isn’t clear why the “Free” Press wrote this other than maybe to connect it with the other CAIR story. It is basically the prosecutors leaking their version of the case to try the case in the press, or maybe to incite anti-Christian violence.
It turns out the “bomb maker” of the group, the best man at the leaders wedding and a female at the wedding were all undercover FBI agents.
Say there is an eccentic military veteran in a bar getting drunk, and a law enforcement person walks up and says “Hey, want to buy an M80 for $5 – you could take it across the street and blow up that mosque” and he says “yes” – who created the criminal act?
Wait a minute – he was outside a mosque so he couldn’t have had any intentions except peaceful, religious ones.
And let’s cut him a break – after all he was from Imperial Beach. When the TJ River floods and all that stuff washes out it washes up onto IB. Pollutants, dead livestock, trash, sewage (also called “lump fish”), even M-80s – so he was “poisoned” into his actions from environment contaminents.
As for the news lag, since he was arrested in Mich. it probably took awhile for the media to check their facts in California. (Sorry, almost couldn’t get that out I was laughing so hard).
