If you want a hint at just how unimportant an AM radio station can be…. WERE-AM is the “black talk” radio station in Cleveland, Oho, a city that is about 50% “black”, and has shed half of its population since the 1960s. WERE-AM carries Al Sharpton and Warren Ballentine, who are syndicated by Radio One (the station is not owned by Radio One)
The evidence that nobody listens to this station is that for a couple months now, the station has been carrying the syndicated programming of USA Radio network overnight, which carries Jim Sumpter – who is one of the most virulent of the anti-Obama talk show hosts. I doubt he even knows he is on that station.
