“Jobless Rate Falls Further”

That’s the headline from the Wall Street Journal.

The unemployment rate went from 9.0% to 8.9% – to me a “fall” means a rapid descent. This was little more than a rounding error. There is always the risk that a reporter will become a “homer” – no longer reporting the facts, but advocating a desired outcome.

News Corp has seen a huge drop in its market value since buying the Wall Street Journal. Perhaps they should put pretty blonde women with fake boobs in bikinis on the front page…
