Unless you don’t watch TV and are a hermit, you probably know who Gayle King is. She’s a close friend of Oprah Winfrey – rumors persist that they are VERY close friends….
So Gayle King has a syndicated radio show carried by Westwood One. She joins a long list of people Westwood has hired to do radio who have no prior experience in radio. Radio-Info.com seems to have the story exclusive this morning that Gayle King is leaving radio, so she can go back to work on TV. Her show was just at the point of getting serious national momentum. Originally she had been doing shows on Oprah’s Sirius/XM channel.
There are currently 10 stations in the directory that stream the show – most are owned by Radio One, the radio network that targets African Americans – but the show was starting to be picked up by other stations with a more racially diverse audience.
I still don’t know who Gayle King is. I still don’t care, too.
Radio-info reports she will continue to do the Sirius XM show.
My wife loves Oprah. I get busy with ANYTHING else when she turns it on.
Gayle King is to Oprah as BaBaLouie is to Howard Stern.
Would I want to listen to BaBaLouie? As much as I want to listen to Gayle King.
Just didn’t want to be called a racist by saying I didn’t want to listen to a friend of a billionaire star.
Are there any friends of Bill Gates looking to start a radio show?
Still not interested.
