Chris Plante back at WMAL starting on Monday – The Joe Scarborough show with Ms Brzezinski gets the boot. Perhaps this will happen on all the Citadel stations, so Joe can return to focusing all his energy on his MSNBC show…

Well, I saw that Joe’s off KABC too as of a few days ago, now they’ve got that hot-talk trio that used to be on KLSX… that leaves him with what, only WABC left? That, and a few smaller outlets, all in the northeast/mid-Atlantic, according to your site. I’d venture to say his days in radio are numbered (again).
The question, of course, is what WABC does to replace him. The other stations have tons of choices as far as replacing it with syndicated fare. There are a handful of options for WABC: 1) bring back Bob Grant to full weekdays (not sure that, at the age of 80, he wants to do that) or some other local host, 2) carry syndicated fare like Laura Ingraham (bad idea, because a] she didn’t do all that well the last time she was on and b] there aren’t any local shows on the weekday schedule right now), or 3) go off the wall and do something like KABC did, bringing in hot-talk (Opie and Anthony redux?) or maybe something really odd like music.
My bets are on 1 right now. Maybe not Grant, but I suspect that time slot will become local.
Well, Curtis Sliwa is doing late nights – he would do 18 hours a day if he could. Beck is the “right” answer, but WOR has him now – still can’t figure out why no former ABC station will carry Beck. Maybe they’ll bring Lynn Samuels back for “balance”
