Allen Hunt calls it quits

I don’t get it.

Radio owners all over the country are shutting down music FM stations to move their news/talk AM stations to FM (WBEN is today’s story).   But the “talent” keeps leaving….

Bill O’Reilly, Bruce Williams, Monica Crowley (weekdays), Tammy Bruce, Judge Napolitano, Dr. Laura, Fred Thompson, Dr Dean Edell…   several of the others who hold national syndication shows behave like it is too much effort to do more than 2 hours a day, 3 days a week….

Allen Hunt has been slowly building a show – mostly on the weekends but also during the week.   He’s a minister and dabbles in politics.   At least when I listened, he didnt’ have any trouble getting interesting calls.   May 31st will be his final day in syndication.

The newer faces – Jason Lewis, Doug Urbanski, America’s News Network…. aren’t exactly lighting the world on fire.   Imus and Hendrie have returned, but as a mere fraction of their original influence.   Where is this headed?

  1. At least until Jay Severin gets a new job, I won’t be confusing him with Jay
    Sekulow.

I could not listen to Allen Hunt. I felt so out of place. Methinks his show was more toward younger people and steering them the right way. I am in my 60s and did not like it. I would not listen on Sunday afternoons to talk radio because of Allen Hunt and Clark Howard. If they had put Rush re-runs or Rusty Humphries on, then I would have been there. Love the streaming radio guide. Thanks so much.
