Haiti is 96% Christian, for those of you who think we should “Christianize” Haiti… As a former French slave colony, Haiti is 80% Roman Catholic and the rest various flavors of Protestant. It is true that over half of Haitians practice Voodoo also – then again, we worship American Idol.
In fact, some will make the case that Haiti never stopped being a French slave colony – all that is changed is now the masters are banks in France that hold the debt owed by the Haitian government and the government slave masters extract the wealth from its citizens through taxes.
Are we looking at our future? You betcha we are.
