Skateboarding should be illegal on ALL private property? Those of you who answered that to the poll – I would be curious what the thinking is. The answer did not say “If the property owner doesn’t want it”… Do you seriously mean that skateboarding is so problematic that if some person on their own land wants to skateboard that you want that against the law?

(Disclaimer: I have polls turned off)
It’s all in the mindset of the poll taker. That’s like asking if it should be illegal to run a red light, knowing that it is problematic… and not mentioning emergency and law enforcement vehicles. I would think that everyone who checked that box was thinking in terms of trespasser, not owner. Create as poll on your above question and I think you’ll see see different results.
That’s how we wind up with a pet store owner convicted of selling a goldfish to a 14 year old.
The skateboarding “community” have themselves to thank for negative attitudes or stereotypes toward them and their sport. Their pastime damages concrete, wood, curbing, handrails, automobiles and other property; skateboarding venues almost always result in loitering, noise and all-too-often obnoxious behavior. Those who skateboard responsibly and are sensitive to the rights and sensibilities of others not enamored of skateboarding regrettably are overshadowed by bad eggs with chips on their shoulders the size of dented Lincoln and a self-absorbed lack of courtesy and responsibility. What came first, the animus against skateboarding or egoistic skateboaders?
So that sounds like collective punishment… Would you like to see video games where the player skateboards banned?
I don’t think I ever saw that poll… but I have seen 6 or 7 polls repeated 8 or 10 times :(
