Let’s say you own a state of the art Deepwater drilling rig. You’re not a U.S. Corporation, your rig is not registered as a U.S. ship, you have never drilled in United States waters. You hear the Attorney General talking about Criminal investigations if something goes wrong. You hear Robert Reich talking about “Taking Over” oil companies.
Your rig is currently working in the ocean near Norway, or perhaps Brazil.
Your phone rings and it is the Preisdent of BP saying he really really needs to hire your rig and have it moved 5000 miles during hurricane season and it has to be in the gulf in 48 hours.
What do you do?
I would tell the President of BP that there is not enough money in the entire world for me to move my rig any where near the socialists in charge of America.
