Ron Insana has a new early morning radio show called the “Insana Quotient”. This morning, I tuned in to hear what the show is like and he was talking to a Gulf Oil Spill “Scare Monger” worried about the toxic effects on people eating seafood.
Ron unfortunately made the assertion that “The Gulf provides the Lion’s Share of seafood in this country”. That is NOT true
As I wrote about earlier, 83% of US seafood is imported. Even of the seafood farmed or caught in the United States, the Gulf is only a minor source – with Washington State and Maryland being the source of most domestic oysters. The only statement that is true is “All of the seafood from the Gulf comes from the Gulf”. The total of all seafood from the Gulf amounts to about $450 million a year, about the cost of one hour of the Federal Government.
Ron then went on to advocate:
– nationalization of the electric grid
– nationalization of health insurance
– using government power to coerce people to change unhealthy behavior
– impose a soda tax
– We’re not living in Thomas Jefferson’s America any more
Who is John Galt?
Thomas Jefferson? Who dat??? Oh yeah, there was an old sitcom about the Jeffersons moving from Queens to Manhattan, right? :-(
Ha! Good one prboylan!
Maybe they could have called the show the “Insane Quotient” instead…
Another left leaning talk show doomed to fail… Not because of the lack of a Fairness Doctrine but because nobody wants to hear their liberal rants… If the left is so correct, then why Air America fail or the New York Times failing to make a profit?
