Okay, here we go again – even on Fox News.
The crazy guy who took over the Discovery TV building (and was killed) did it because of Al Gore. There is no question about it. It wasn’t an oblique indirect assumption. He had previously been arrested in 2008. He explained it on his web site. He told it to police and anyone who would listen. He believes that the Discovery Channel’s programming has too much fluff that isn’t taking the message of Nobel Peace prize winner Al Gore’s message of impending doom seriously enough.
Fortunately, he was the only person killed by his actions.
As you hear the 3rd rewrite of the accounts, watch how any reference to Al Gore or even the guy’s views is “cleansed” from the news. Fox was already to the point of just describing it as “upset over their environmental programming”. That gives no hint as to whether he is an AlGoreBot or a “global warming denier”. Many of the stories have dropped motive completely.
I do think it’s interesting that the media broadcast Mayor Bloomberg’s speculation that the Times Square bomber was “a tea party person who was upset over the passage of health care legislation,” with no fact-checking, but when an enviro-terrorist who references Al Gore’s book on his blog straps explosives to his body and takes hostages, no one refers to the books and ideology that directly affected his actions. Evidence and facts no longer matter. I guess that’s why O.J. Simpson was a free man but Scooter Libby did jail time.
