Beck personifies a box of quirkiness and contradictions, but to his great credit he stirred up a ruckus or two that has people talking and, I would hope, researching the founding documents and the personalities who forged this great nation. The renewed awareness alone makes his efforts worthwhile.
Does he contradict himself? Yes. But he’s no Savage. Beck is seemingly evolving. I remember listening to him as we started ramping up operations in Iraq. He was a cheerleader at the time, but a lot of us were. He’s certainly running down the libertarian path, even though just a couple of years ago he had believed the libertarians were a bit too much with some of their views.
I noticed he has ditched Moron Trivia, with Pat and Stu covering it in the fourth hour. It seems like Beck decided he couldn’t preach what he believes and do something that tears apart the dumbed-down.
I don’t look for talk show hosts to change the way I look at life. I listen because I’ve heard all the songs on the radio many, many times over. I also listen because I hear things that don’t make it to the MSM, Drudge, or any other outlets. If I’m looking for practical, (mostly) consistent views, I listen to Jerry Doyle.
The Limbaugh/Hannity/Levin axis is a little too “cheerleader” for my taste.
