Alvin Greene Lost!

The guy who mysteriously won the South Carolina Democratic Primary for U.S. Senator lost his race yesterday, a story which the news people probably swerved to avoid mentioning.

Since I don’t swerve, the big question is “So how many people ended up voting for Alvin Greene”? If you have seen him on TV or heard him on radio, it doesn’t take long to realize he is a few fries short of a happy meal. There are only two reasons anyone would vote for him as Senator – because he had a (D) next to his name, or because he is black.

According to the U.S. Census 2009 estimate, South Carolina is 28.2% black, reflecting its historical roots in slavery. Alvin Greene received 28% of the vote.

For those White Democrats in South Carolina who could not bring themselves to vote for a Republican or an incoherent black man, their only other choice was the
Green Party candidate – who received 9% of the vote!

South Carolina also had a race for Governor – 47% voted for the Democrat. Nikki Haley (Nimrata Randhawa), the Republican woman who is the daughter of Indian Sikh immigrants won with 51%. I wonder if she had support from the “Take America back to be a Christian Nation like our Founding Fathers wanted” folks… hmm……

I’ve read several interesting speculations about why he won the primary
    1) people confused him with Al Green the singer
    2) people confused him with the Green Party
    3) a nefarious group wanted to test their remote control of the voting machine and this was a great race to test a proof of concept
    4) The Democrats wanted DeMint and voted for the first name on the ballot in the primary.

I never buy into conspiracy theories but #3 is almost believable

Frankly, I’d take Greene in spades (oops!) over Peelousey or the hissing cockroach Hairy Reeds in Nevada. I’m just sayin’ is all ….

Alvin Green got 28% of the votes because of the obvious, he’s black. He’s sort of reminiscent of the black congressman who thought that Guam could sink into the ocean if we send any more troop in.

On the other hand we conservatives should consider candidates with recognizable names. Maybe we can find a Frankie Roosevelt, Mary S Truman, or Tom F. Cannady. The 28% morons who voted for Greene wouldn’t know the difference.

I spent a lot of my time at Ft Bragg and can tell you for sure Fayeteville, NC does not have any black rocket scientists.
