NAB picks new President – the NAB has been leaderless during the “Performance Tax” debate in Congress, and they have hired former Republican Senator Gordon Smith of Oregon. While in the U.S. Senate, he sat on the committee that oversees the FCC. Other than as a lawmaker with connections, he has no experience in the broadcast business. He is a Mormon lawyer and is related to several members of the Mo Udall family. [Bonneville will be pleased]
