KABC’s Doug MdIntyre is out – the morni…

KABC’s Doug MdIntyre is out – the morning guy is headed to New York to temporarily replace retiring WABC newsman George Weber Bruce Anderson – but my senses are tingling that there is an impending announcement that KABC and WABC may shortly not be part of the same company and Doug is mvoing to be in the right place. The NAB convention is going on this week, and I have to think some big announcements about sales or mergers is going to happen this week.

George Weber was the newsman that got murdered. Bruce Anderson is the guy who retired.

:) You’re the second one that pointed that out :) WABC is a station I listened to a lot, and I confused their two names. Sorry about that.

In his place is Peter Tilden… former overnight host at KABC, former morning host at KZLA. Tilden got laid off a year and a half ago after that big round of Citadel cuts… hmm… he always marketed his show as “America’s Earliest Morning Show” as it also aired on Sirius-XM from 2-6am Eastern… the transition shouldn’t be that hard.

I’m just kind of shocked that a laid off radio employee got called back to work. That doesn’t happen often!
