Not worth a Canadian Dollar

The US dollar, that is.

Chart

Unlike the times during the past year when the USD/CAD rate went below $1.00 for a day, this looks like a trend. The rate is only psychological as the Canadian dollar has no hard connection to the US dollar, beyond the Canadian coins used to fool American vending machines in border states.

While Canada has been moving to develop its natural resources, and backing away from socialism and Keynesian stimulus, we’ve been running toward it. TD bank is the Toronto based Dominion Bank. This is a sign of our future.

Let’s see how many RSS feed readers reply to a troll without reading the last paragraph, eh?

Geopolitical sayers of sooth also warn that two giants sleep fitfully south our border. They are Brazil and — wait for it — Mexico. Both are beginning to stir. Ah, the ships that pass in the night. Thank God we have the Captain of the Hesperus at the national helm, steering us twixt the rocks and the shoals.
