So you probably heard that 1 person was killed and 11 people injured at a Fraternity in Ohio? What did the news coverage leave out this time?
Jamail E. Johnson is a 25 year old “student”, the one killed. The two men arrested for his murder were “not identified pending further investigation”. No pictures, no names, no demographic characteristics were released by the police beyond the two shooters being in their early 20s and from the Youngstown area. About 24 hours later, local papers printed the arrested men’s names – Columbus Jones Jr. and Braylon Rogers

(Braylon Rogers)
Some sources identify the fraternity as Omega Psi Phi, but no source I read yet identifies that Omega Psi Phi is a racially segregated fraternity for African Americans only.
Are you sure it wasn’t Omega Omega Psi Sigma? All the news that fits, remember?
How can we label it “news coverage” when it doesn’t?
Previously I laughed when hearing the Weatherpeople who made excuses for their misses, thinking they were able to kept their job when they didn’t have much success at it. Now that disease seems to have spread to the rest of the people in the newsroom, and they deal with it by not dealing with it.
So, how can we continue to label them “news journalists”?
