A week ago, I wrote about the Vietnam Vet Army helicopter pilot from Imperial Beach California who was arrested outside the Mosque in Dearborn, Michigan for having illegal fireworks. After the war, he spent several years in Indonesia as a bush pilot (*hint*)
Turns out Mr Stockham IS A CONVERT TO ISLAM. He had his arraignment last Friday, and rejected his court appointed lawyer because the lawyer is a Shi’ite Muslim. Mr Stockham has a long history of psychiatric problems and runins with the law, including threatening the life of George W Bush in 2004.
Oh, and there is more. A month ago, the VFW post got a restraining order against him because they’re afraid of him (they removed his profile from their web site). He also was arrested for threatening to blow up the VA hospital in Vermont (or kill himself). He also threatened to kill President Bush in 2002.
All these details line up to confirm my theory (which I didn’t state) that he has been on a VA “Disability” pension since 1975 for mental problems. He’s been labeled as Bipolar and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, although his self description on the VFW profile said he didn’t really see any action in Vietnam
Remember when “Big Sis” said we should be concerned about veterans returning home with mental problems?
A convert to What? Who wadda guessed? Apparently not the media ….
Although I’m confused:
1. Were his mental probs the result of NOT seeing action in Vietnam?
2. Was the onset of his mental illness a result of his conversion?
3. Or was he mentally sick and then decided to convert?
4. Actually, as a former San Diego resident, I think his mental illness is a result of growing up in Imperial Beach. ;}
I understand that chewing on carpets with one’s rectum elevated to the world to kiss can lead to certain manias. Could be wrong, just sayin’.
