That’s the quote from the General Manager of KHRO in El Paso, Texas. (reported in Tom Taylor’s Newsletter) That’s even though most of the daily lineup was local people who were working for free (The station is owned by Entravision, one of the radio owners very active in the Mexican border area).
So either they were slow learners or optimists, but they finally pulled the plug and are bringing in Laura Ingraham, Dennis Miller and Dave Ramsey. The only markets where liberal talk clings to hope is large university towns with a reputation for far left politics.
Back in the last century when I went to college the school picked up the tab for the station, and the announcers were sstudent volunteers (my roommate being one). So the Administration payed the bills, and the students played the records for free.
No real economic model to follow there. That’s what the Libs are trying to follow.
And there was no talk, just music.
Lots of music.
Liberalism is about feelings in lieu of thinking, idealism over realism, controlling instead of discussing. Those are difficult parameters for libtalk, especially on airwaves. Poor, poor babies.
